Der Abend mit dem montenegrischen Präsidenten J. Milatovic an der Humboldt-Universität: Frage der Transformation

Heute war ich neverovatno geehrt und ponosan, an der Rede des Präsidenten von Montenegro Jakov Milatović vor allem als Student (und auch Jounalist) teilzunehmen, der während seines Besuchs im Bundestag und an der HU auch die Sonne und Wärme aus dem Land gebracht hat.

Die Rede mit dem Austausch mit Student:innen, die von Walter-Hallstein-Institut für Europäisches Verfassungsrecht und Professor Dr. Matthias Ruffert veranstaltet wurde, war unfassbar interessant, weitgehend, europäisch im Gedanken und konstruktiv! Ich habe ebenso den Präsident gefragt — aus meiner langfristigen Erfahrung mit Balkan und wertvollen Erfahrung an der Uni mit den außerordentlichen Lehrenden und Studierenden.

Im Jahr 2024 war ich schon einmal nah zum Präsident Milatović, aber in der zweiten Hauptstadt von Crna Gora Cetinje, vor dem offiziellen Palast.

Meine Frage an den Präsident Milatović heute Abend an der Humboldt Universität läutete:
"Your Excellence President Milatović, you had a crucial experience working at EBRD — European Bank for reconstruction and development. How do you see the transformation of Montenegro from Post-Yugoslavia, does the country even need it? In Germany we have the same discourse about the former GDR. Our university's Professor of Sociology (and member of the commission of integration and migration) Dr. Steffen Mau pointed out that eastern Germany needs:
— Different forms of participation to raise people's trust in the democratic system
— Respecting the special identity of the people
— Making East the engine, the initiator of its own production and economy instead of blind adaptation to the West.
To what extent is it true for Crna Gora?"
Das ist schön die zweite Veranstaltung, wenn berühmte Politiker:innen Berlin mit dem Besuch gewürdigt haben. Zuvor besuchte ich die Rede von Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez im Februar an der TU. Der Bericht ist auf meine Kolumne im Magazin Entre-Nous verfügbar.
